CPAP Maintenance Basics
– Use any grease-cutting, gentle dish soap to clean your equipment. Baby wipes or other body wipes are not recommended as they often have lotions and other additives that can leave a residue on your supplies.
– To dry your tubing, hang it over a shower rail.
– Regularly inspect your tubing, water chamber, cushion, headgear, and frame for cracks, rips, tears, holes, or other wear.
– Using distilled water in your humidifier is highly recommended. If you are not using distilled water, your water chamber must be washed with warm, soapy water daily to prevent buildup.
Step 2: Wash your face before using the mask
Step 2: Soak tubing, water chamber, and mask in a mixture of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts distilled water for 2-3 hours.
Step 3: Wash headgear in laundry (remember to fasten the Velcro down).
